可下载内容（Downloadable content） (DLC)，是由Paradox Development Studio（PDS）制作的内容，是对钢铁雄心4的扩展或添加内容。它们本质上是模块化的，这意味着玩家可以通过通过启动器勾选是否需要特定的DLC进行游戏。DLC通常随附一个免费补丁更新，该补丁为玩家提供了大多数新的更新内容，以免阻碍游戏的可玩性。大多数DLC均被视为可选购买内容。

Expansions change the game considerably; introducing new and improved gameplay mechanics as well as many kinds of flavor and various balance tweaks (included in the accompanying free patch).

Götterdämmerung Paradox Steam Released on 2024-11-14. Players can write new histories of Germany, Austria, Hungary and Belgium. Build the industrial and research foundation to survive the world's greatest conflict. Pursue exciting new research and military options, opening new paths for devastating new weapons and dramatic raids on strategic targets. Larger German Focus Tree: Revised national focuses and alternate historical paths for one of the most played nations in Hearts of Iron IV. These political paths include new monarchist content, a restored democratic Germany and alternate fascist militarist paths. More character driven events add flavour to the war's central player. 奥地利 Revised Austrian Focus Tree: New alternate histories for Austria free of German control, as well as content for surrounding countries that were once part of the Habsburg Empire. There is also a revised historical path for AI controlled Austria. 匈牙利王国 Hungarian Focus Tree: Rebuild the nation, using technology to overcome manpower shortages. Reform the Austro-Hungarian Empire and forge a powerful, unified faction. 比利时 Belgian Focus Tree: Resist or welcome German supremacy. Draw on the natural wealth of the Congo and build potential for an African government-in-exile. Special Projects: Build scientific facilities to pursue advanced research in special projects, assigning scientists to further your war effort. Special projects include nuclear physics, advanced aircraft, rocketry, advanced tanks and artillery, naval engineering and electronics. Raids: Attack important enemy targets with carefully planned strikes. Enemy ports, industrial structures, research facilities and special resource collection areas are potential targets for bombing strikes, commando raids or paratroop attacks. And more: New structures and buildings are visible on the map, AI players are better at planning attacks, new changes to the use and effectiveness of atomic warfare.

Pursue the course of domestic harmony through a strong welfare state and agile diplomacy, or throw in with the democratic Allies, rearming for the coming storm. 冰岛 Icelandic Focus Tree: Military Industrial Organizations: Military Industrial Organizations will offer new ways to streamline production lines or develop high-performance weapons systems with advantages on the battlefield. International Market: In the new International Market, you can become an arms exporting powerhouse, selling weapons to other nations in return for civilian factory output, increasing your own industrial production at home while fueling the fires of war abroad.
唯有浴血（By Blood Alone） Paradox Steam Released on 2022-09-27. Build a new empire, resist foreign aggression or explore the limits of neutrality. The expansion adds new alternate history options and gameplay variety for three nations, as well as other significant changes. 意大利 Updated Italian Focus Tree: Follow the historical path of Mussolini's Italy or rewrite history by restoring power to the monarchy, leading a Communist revolution or promoting democracy. 埃塞俄比亚 Ethiopian Focus Tree: Defy the odds to defeat the Italian invader or resist the conqueror from abroad using unique Government in Exile abilities. 瑞士 Swiss Focus Tree: Surrounded by France, Germany and Italy, the mountain nation of Switzerland finds strength in its neutrality, balancing competing factions and overtures from the great powers. 寸步不退（No Step Back） Paradox Steam Released on 2021-11-23. The Second World War's hardest fighting was on the Eastern Front of Europe. This expansion adds greater detail for many nations in Eastern Europe, unique game systems to reflect Soviet politics, and many improvements to the military aspect of the game. 苏维埃联盟 Updated Soviet National Focus Tree. 波兰 Updated Polish National Focus Tree. New Baltic National Focus Trees: Shared alternate history paths for 爱沙尼亚, 拉脱维亚 and 立陶宛, as well as unique paths for each. Army Officer Corps: Build a general staff, drawing on the talents and expertise of available officers to take advantage of changes in technology and tactics. Army Spirits: Emphasize certain characteristics of your military arms, adding general bonuses to certain units types or even aiding division design. Supply System Updates: Scorched Earth tactics, floating harbors and special supply units added to the logistics system. Tank Designer: Design your own armored force using modules prioritizing speed, gun power, armor or even production cost. Railway Guns: Commission the grandest, most prestigious of artillery pieces, uniquely designed to deal with entrenched foes, and fortified positions.

A Spearhead battleplan command: Allowing more control over grand encirclements and punching through enemy lines. Technology sharing: Allows Commonwealth nations to quickly catch up with British assistance.

New Diplomatic Interactions: License military technology to bring other nations' weapons to the field or sell your advances to the highest bidder. New Puppet Interactions: Fascist countries get new subject levels like Reichskommissariat, with access to licenses, industry and strategic resources. The instated governments are held in an iron grip, making it harder for them to break free. New Music and Art: 3 new thematic musical tracks from composer Andreas Waldetoft, new art content for the four focus nations, and new troop voiceovers.

Modified Focus Trees: 德意志国 and File:Japan.png 日本, two major Axis powers now have alternate history paths, including the chance to depose Hitler or restore democracy to Japan. General Traits and Abilities: Generals’ traits can now unlock powerful Command Power abilities, allowing great flexibility and creativity. Decisions and Missions: Historical decisions and national missions give new places to spend Political Power, from domestic politics to start special projects. And more: Scavenge equipment from the battlefield, use Volunteer Air Corps, as well as new music and art.

Ship Design: Research new components and refit older vessels to take advantage of new knowledge. Outfit your submarines with snorkels or improved stealth. Admiral Traits and Skills: Tailor and level up your Admirals with new traits and skills. Governments in Exile: Welcome a government in exile to your democracy, boosting their legitimacy in return for more manpower and elite troops fighting to free their homeland. Other National Focuses: New national focuses for The 荷兰 and 墨西哥. Naval Mines: Protect your coasts from invasion or assault with anti-ship mines, or clear a path through enemy mines before you make the big push. Shipping route controls: plot new routes for your shipping and navies by marking areas you want to avoid. Naval Treaties: Struggle to keep the peace by following internationally agreed upon rules, or creatively defy the world consensus by exceeding your limits. Amphibious Landing Vehicles: Add power to your beach landing by researching and producing specialized combat vehicles for your marines. New Music: Original music composed specifically for the Man the Guns expansion.
抵抗运动（La Résistance） Paradox Steam 发布于 2020-02-25. New Focus Trees for France: New National Focuses for Free 法国 and the 维希法国 Regime, as well as an option for conservatives to restore the old French Monarchy. More in Depth Spanish Campaign: New National Focuses for 西班牙共和国 and 西班牙国, as well as an expanded Spanish Civil War that can spiral into a wider conflict.. Portuguese Focuses: Navigate the pressure of the World War, or involve yourself in the Spanish Conflict with the new Focus Tree for 葡萄牙. Espionage: Use you Intelligence Agency to train spies to specialize in certain types of information warfare and develop passive resistance to enemy espionage, then send them on special operations. Support Resistance: Use your agents to assist allied resistance movements, giving them what they need to damage the enemy. Collaboration Governments: Use your agents to prepare the ground for collaborators to fill the void once you’ve conquered your target. Code Cracking: Decrypt enemy communications to gain short term battlefield advantages. Recon units: Scout planes can provide useful information on nearby areas while armored cars help in detecting and suppressing resistance activities.

Axis Armor Units: Adds 53 armor models for fascist regimes: 德意志国: 19 models from a range of tank destroyers, self propelled artillery and self propelled anti-air vehicles, including the Stug III, the Wespe and the Elefant heavy tank destroyer. 意大利: 12 models from a roster of Semovente tank destroyers and the always outmatched L6 tank highlight this list of Italian armor from the war.
