The London Naval Treaty (LNT) is a mechanic introduced with the 炮手就位 DLC. It limits the major powers of USA, United Kingdom, France, Japan and Italy in terms of the maximum cost of carriers, cruisers and capital ships, as well as the number of capital ships in relation to the number of capital ships of the United Kingdom.
The second London naval treaty is a mission that finishes in June 1936. During the mission, leaving the treaty is an option for the fascist treaty parties Japan and Italy. After the mission's conclusion, the naval treaty's limitations affect the maximum production cost for cruisers, carriers and heavy ships (heavy cruisers, battlecruisers and battleships). If a country outside the treaty reaches a certain percentage of the British number of capital ships, they can be invited into the treaty. Should the nation decline and continue to expand their navy until near parity, the treaty nations can try to force them to disarm up to 80% of the number of capital ships. A refusal to disarm may lead to war. If a signatory nation exceeds the allocated amount of capital ships, they immediately get a mission to reduce the number of capital ships, at the threat of major stability loss. The treaty becomes defunct after 2 major powers (except any chinese faction) are at war or when World Tension reaches 75%.
Decisions
This is a 120 days mission starting on Jan 1st, 1936, during which the player nation can decide to withdraw from the treaty. After the mission ends, the only options left are cheat on the treaty and invoke escalator claus until certain World Tension thresholds are reached.
Withdraw from the treaty
Fascist nations can take the decision Abandon the Naval Treaties for 50 PP, all others for 150 PP during the second London naval treaty underway mission, thus lifting the treaty's limitations for the withdrawing country. After April 30th 1936, 20% must be reached before the decision to withdraw becomes vailable again. After a country withdraws from the LNT, a 365 days mission timer starts that changes the London naval treaty spirit for all remaining signatories to the Escalator Clause Invoked spirit.
Cheat on the treaty
Fascist nations can pay 50PP to cheat on the treaty, increasing the maximum cost of their ships while keeping the LNT in being and thus forcing non fascist treaty parties to still respect the limitations.
The limits are then raised by +400 for cruisers, +1500 for heavy ships and +750 production cost for carriers for the cheating nation.
Escalator clause invoked
At 20% world tension, or if another country withdraws from the treaty, a mission starts which replaces the London Naval Treaty Signatory with Escalator Clause Invoked after 365 days, changes the maximum cost for ships for treaty signatories.
Becoming a treaty signatory
When a nation that is not yet a treaty signatory reaches 20% of the capital ships of 联合王国, it gets an invitation to join the LNT. If refused, this gives a war goal to all signatories.
